Summer means the return of local berries. Lorain County has some of the finest pick-your-own fruit farms in the area, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors while stocking up on fresh produce.

When it comes to picking your fruit, timing is everything. Strawberries are typically available from early June through early July. Cherries come next, with premium crops ready between late June and early July. Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are available during July and into the first part of August.

Here’s a listing of local farms to try this summer. Depending on the weather, crops may mature earlier or later than expected, so be sure to call ahead to make sure the fruit is ready for the picking.
