Halloween Fair at Carlisle Reservation

Experience the shivers during a haunted jaunt off the beaten path through spooky stations equipped with actors and other trailside scenes, including mechanical scare props. The trail is open from 7 to 10 p.m., and the nonspooky trail will be open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more family-friendly fun, the fair also includes live music, games and food vendors.

Don’t miss: During the Little Green Choo and tractor-pulled rides, participants will encounter the Children’s Nature Discovery Trail with inflatable Halloween characters and other amusing displays. Rides are included in the price of admission.

Ghost Tours

Hosted by Scarlet Transportation and Adventure Tours, spend an eery evening aboard the Aventure Bus destined for some of the county’s most historically haunted sites. Get the scoop on local legends from a paranormal professional before daring to step off the bus to participate in investigations and explore destinations both indoors and outside.

Don’t miss: Looking for a horror story with history? Check out the Cleveland Torso Murders tour Oct. 27. Guided by a local historian, visit the sites and discover the dark details surrounding Cleveland’s most notorious and unsolved serial killings. Tickets for this event are $30.

16th Annual Turkey Dash

Work up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner during this 5K run/walk that attracts more than 2,000 runners and spectators. Proceeds benefit the Karen P. Nakon Breast Cancer Foundation, which provides funds to families in Ohio impacted by the financial burden of breast cancer treatments. Last year, the Turkey Dash raised more than $30,000 for the foundation.

Don’t Miss: Lace up your running shoes and cheer on participants from the sidelines before enjoying post-race hot cocoa, coffee, fruit and pumpkin pie.
