DINERS COME FROM MILES around to Jackalope Lakeside — located directly on the shore of Lake Erie — to enjoy the food and drink while soaking up the lake views on the 60-person patio.
“We’re one of the few places on the lake where you can get great views of Lake Erie, the marina and the Lorain Lighthouse,” says manager Tyler Evenson.
While winters on the lake can prove chilly, the staff at Jackalope keeps the patio open as late into the fall season as possible with space heaters to warm the guests. On Tuesdays in June through September, patrons can tour the lighthouse and enjoy a four-course wine dinner during Lighthouse Dinners. Run by the Lorain County Port Authority, all proceeds go to the restoration of the early 1900s landmark.
