Family-owned and -operated since 1979, the Vermilion Farm Market is open year-round, specializing in the freshest of produce grown in the area and beyond. The specialty grocery has everything from award-winning bottles of red wine to artisan pickles made regionally.  You’ll find a full deli, fresh bakery, large dairy section, meat counter and gift and fruit baskets for special occasions.
Check out a few of its favorites:

Specialty sausages – There are flavors like pizza, Philadephia cheese steak and blueberry breakfast sausage. Made fresh in-house, specialty sausages and a revolving list of new creations are available daily at the meat counter.

Ribs & Seafood – “During the summer months, we cook ribs in our parking lot, along with a dockside seafood sale, where we feature competitive pricing on popular fish, such as lobster, king crab and jumbo scallops,” says Steve Hicks, whose wife, Mary, is the owner along with her father, Tom Rotell. This happens twice in the summer and fall — once right before Thanksgiving and once Christmas week.

Ohio Proud – At the height of the growing season, half of the produce department is sourced from local growers. Watermelons, squash, peppers, tomatoes and green beans were on the late-summer lineup. “When available, we offer locally grown produce from Amish Country and nearby farmers,” Hicks says. “We also sell Ohio Proud Beef — all fresh.”
