The Difference Makers Gala goes beyond the expected charitable event.
Leadership Lorain County, one of the region’s top leadership development organizations, presents the gala (which will be next held on Feb. 15, 2019) to showcase and honor the county’s veteran leaders as well as aspiring individuals.
“In honoring these winners, we hope to motivate others to do what these people and organizations are doing, and to find out what it is about them that drives them,” says Julie Cruz Blair, Leadership Lorain County’s executive director. 
The winners (selected from nominations from the community) will be notified this fall. The selection committee and Leadership Lorain County staff surprise winners by telling them in person, often at home or work.
“It’s a nice little secret and a lot of fun,” says Cruz Blair.
