Any sandwich is a great sandwich at Melt Bar and Grilled in Avon, but owner Matt Fish’s favorite is the Purple Parma Grilled Cheese Sandwich. This sandwich combines all the Italian classic flavors, while also offering a tasty vegetarian option.
“I have always been an Italian food fan and eggplant Parmesan is one of my all-time favorites,” he says. “This sandwich combines all my favorites about the classic dish including the garlic bread. It is crunchy, tomato, garlic cheesy goodness.”
The sandwich begins with two slices of Melt’s fresh-baked bread toasted nicely on both sides. Then, Fish breaks down all of the components that make the Purple Parma a winner: Four slices — a quarter pound — of mozzarella cheese, Melt’s signature rich basil marinara, crispy eggplant breaded with a signature batter and panko bread crumbs, grilled tomatoes, roasted garlic seasoning and Romano cheese.
