Lorain Community College’s C. Paul Stocker Humanities and Fine Arts Center celebrates its 38th season in 2018-2019. Director Janet Herman Barlow believes the center brings quality performances “close to home, with the most affordable ticket prices and free parking” to a variety of audiences. Fall and winter highlights include:
The Crucible – Oct. 29. A student matinee of Arthur Miller’s classic play that the public can — and should — attend.
The Midtown Men – Nov. 18. “This is ’60s music performed by four guys who met while with Jersey Boys on Broadway.”
Lucky Chops – Nov. 27. From singing in the subway to sold-out performance halls, this brass band is amazing to watch. “The tuba player is not much bigger than his instrument, but, like all the members, he brings a lot of energy,” says Herman Barlow.
A Christmas Cabaret – Dec. 14 and 15. In its 12th year, this holiday performance is one of the center’s most beloved traditions. And if you don’t sing along to “White Christmas,” you are a Grinch.
